Widespread and common all around the UK wherever kelp grows and there is a reasonable amount of water movement. Blue-rayed limpets, Helcion pellucidum, are found singly or in small groups on kelp fronds. They actually feed on the kelp by rasping away at it and gradually produce a significant indentation.
