FISH
Pogge
The Pogge or Agonus cataphractus is a small, insignificant, little fish and quite common on British shores. It is often overlooked by divers however, as it doesn't move much and spends a lot of time part buried in sand or sediment using its beard of sensors to check for food hiding below it. Its maximum size is about 15cms and can be found in both shallow and deep water. Also confusingly called Hooknose or Armoured Bullhead.
Location: North Sea - St. Abbs Marine Reserve
